Our Mission
Every day, millions of goods are bought and sold online. At The
Nonprofit Marketplace™, we believe in extending the vast potential of
e-commerce to the public sector through a new form of online social
enterprise: e-fundraising.
As the first e-commerce service specially designed for nonprofits and
their supporters, our mission is to provide organizations and
individuals alike with the tools needed to earn and donate income
online – specifically, through the sale of household media items such
as books, CDs and DVDs. Selling on the Internet should be both easy and
ethical. Our goal is to promote practical, compassionate
commerce, the joining of buyers and sellers, entrepreneurs and causes,
in the world’s first truly nonprofit marketplace.
Headquartered in Manhattan's beautiful Upper West Side, The Nonprofit
Marketplace was founded and is currently directed by Justin Daniel
Belmont, a Fine Arts graduate student at Columbia University. It is
operated by a small, committed staff. Heartfelt gratitude is owed to
the wide array of programmers, technicians and creative talent,
representing all five continents, that helps to make this project
possible. Thank you.
